Heres a small list of things I will be looking at editing out and adding in to my video before crit on Tuesday. I still feel for the music and feel it’s a good choice but I have no problem trying new things. I will create some new music for it myself and see how things turn out. This way there are options and Im taking risks. (Yes, that is my wallpaper, I need it at times like this)
Setup today was crazy. I waited around for 6 gours to see if my video was okay on the projector because the video/audio guy came late. Everyones videos were failing which had me concerned. I didn’t like leaving without knowing my video was or wasn’t going to be shown on the projector but it was going on 1AM and I was exhausted. If all else fails, I am playing mine in my space on a TV setup with speakers/headphones.

So here is SDS in final form. I need some input to make it better. Visual effects are a little weak and some had complaints about music selection. Let me know what you think and what might make this a better final project. Thanks

Rendering for visual effects

Roughly 2 hours until my file in FCP renders to edit in AE for special effects. I must have re-edit these files a hundred times but I think I finally got it right. Its making sense to everyone now since it is all put together. Files are massive to post here on the blog so when things settle down I will make sure to post them. I’ve been a little behind on blog posts trying to catch up with all of my work. Still have a lot to do but it’s all over soon..
11:30AM Deadline. Fighting time at this point.

Started editing it to a final look. I rendered it out to give myself an idea of timing and what needs to be fixed. I also started to render one with music on it but this render alone took over 12 hours. The rest of the filming for the blank scenes will be done tomorrow morning. The final render will continue up until Saturday night/Sunday morning to be handed in. I couldn’t get a file on Vimeo to show on here because the video file is to big. When I get more time I will try something else.

Scenes shot/need to be shot

This is a list of scenes shot and ones that need to be shot. Not all scenes that are done are listed. The ones not crossed out are scenes scheduled to be filmed all day Sunday. I put together the parts in order in AE and Final Cut to see what is missing and what needs to be added.
I was having some trouble finding a person to play the “criminal drug dealer” for the alley way scenes. I considered playing a role myself if all else doesnt work but would prefer not to. Time will tell, if i find noone willing to help out at a busy time such as now, then I will have no choice to get the scenes done that I need. I have been creating a lot more filler footage as well to make things fit and transition easier. I also noticed more people are getting the idea of the story better the way it is now.
The idea people are getting out of it is that the main character wakes with this power one morning and abuses it to an extreme measure in his favor but the more he uses it, the less effective it is. Once he needs the power the most (save his roommate chris) the power begins to backfire and sends him on a crazy random journey to get back to Chris until it is to late.
My goal is to have all the scenes (with the exception of one maybe – until I can locate to where it is being shot) done in a sequence and effects by my next meeting this coming Thursday.

Script revised – draft #4

Serotonin Dopamine Soup revised script #4
Here is another draft of the script for SDS. This one clarifies a few of the misunderstood ideas and includes some b-roll footage shots. Feedback is welcome if you are reading this. The sooner I can revise it the sooner I can schedule to shoot the new ideas and incorporate into the film.

Weekend footage/Script update

This weekend so far I re-shot some old footage that needed to be done and shot some new footage. After my meeting with Katherine and Maria, I realized there were some needed features in the footage to make it work. B-roll footage is now an added feature. I reworked out some of the scenes as well to make them fit a little better and found a loophole reason for the randomness in the film. This coming week is going to be a crazy week trying to get all of my projects done for classes but hopefully things will go smoothly. I am working hard on getting things done and I am very motivated to finish my work. Check back later for the updated script, it should be wrote out in finished form tonight.
